Liability For Golf Cart Accidents
Car accidents remain one of the leading causes of preventable injury and death in the United States. According to the IIHS, “Although the U.S. population has grown continuously since 1975, the rate of crash deaths per 100,000 people in 2022 was 38% lower than it was four decades ago. In 2022, the overall per capita death rate decreased 2.1% compared with 2021.” There are a number of common causes of car accidents.
- Speeding
- Distracted driving
- Inclement weather
- Poor road conditions
All drivers have a legal obligation to exercise due care in order to avoid hitting other vehicles. Drivers should use their horns when necessary to alert other drivers of their presence. If a driver fails to slow down in order to avoid a collision, this could form the basis of a negligence claim. It is important that certain steps are taken after any car accidents.
- Medical records related to any crashes should be collected.
- Eyewitnesses should be interviewed.
- Surveillance footage should be sought.
Most pedestrian accidents are preventable. They tend to involve situations where drivers are not paying attention to the road ahead of them. In particular, many drivers fail to check their blind spots when they are making left turns. It is important that victims of car accidents understand that they do have rights. The family of any person who died in a collision may be able to seek some measure of justice through a civil claim.
