CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (October 23, 2024) – A man has tragically died on the West Side of Chicago after an attack on a CTA bus heading down South Cicero Avenue.

Cook County officials are saying that the incident took place around 8:00 p.m. on Friday. A 49-year-old man was involved in some type of argument with a female passenger.

At some point during that argument, the woman stabbed him in the chest and then fled on foot. Paramedics were called to the scene of the attack in order to help the victim.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with critical injuries. Despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
