CFMOTO Recalls ZFORCE 950 HO Sport Side-by-Side ROV Recalled Over Tip-Over and Crash Hazard
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (July 23, 2024) – CFMOTO issued a recall for ZFORCE 950 HO Sport Side-by-Side ROV due to a crash and tip-over hazard.
The recall was issued on July 18, 2024. Around 3,630 affected units were sold.
According to the recall notice by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the shock absorber rob assembly can unthread and detach.
This can cause the suspension to completely collapse, which could cause a tip-over hazard. CFMOTO has received 86 reports of accidents so far.
Liability For ATV Collisions
Accidents involving UTVs, ATVs, OHVs, and ROVs remain very common. According to Consumer Affairs, “ATVs caused 96% of all OHV-related injuries from 2016 to 2020. OHVs cause more than 700 deaths and 100,000 injuries in the U.S. each year. In 2020, 78% of those injured in OHV accidents were treated then released by emergency rooms, and 19% were hospitalized.” There are a number of common causes of ATV accidents.
- Inexperienced drivers are much more likely to be involved in collisions.
- Terrain hazards such as rocks and tree stumps are another major hazard.
- ATVs are also susceptible to mechanical failures that lead to crashes or tip-overs.
Companies that manufacture all-terrain vehicles have a legal obligation to make them as safe as possible. They must rigorously test their vehicles and ensure that they are compliant with all safety standards set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. These companies must warn about the non-obvious dangers associated with the use of their products. If an ATV has design defects that lead to an accident, this could form the basis of a strict liability claim. Victims of ATV accidents tend to suffer very serious injuries.
- Broken bones
- Head injuries
- Lacerations
- Spinal cord injuries
It can be hard to know where to begin after being injured in an ROV or ATV accident. Victims are commonly ejected or otherwise sustain very serious injuries. Many accident victims may not be able to work for extended periods and be left with high medical bills. Any person who is injured in an ATV, ROV, or UTV accident may be able to seek some measure of justice through a civil claim. A product liability attorney can examine all of the unique facts of your case and let you know what your legal options are.
